Jo DeVane SCW therapist

Hi, I’m Angela!

I was raised on St. Simon’s Island and in Tifton, Georgia. I lived in Atlanta for 25 years and now have escaped to the North Georgia mountains.

I have over 35 years of experience working with older adults. Some of that time includes working within physical rehabilitation hospitals with head injury, stroke, and orthopedic and neurological patients. I specialize now in helping older adults through Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT) and other services like senior strength training, chair exercise, personal training, Yoga, Ageless Grace brain and body fitness, Balance and Mobility, and Silver Sneakers.

As I pursued my wellness career, I was introduced to Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT).  My Dad was a Chiropractor so growing up surrounded by bodywork and focus on good health is a passion. Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT) is more moderate than Chiropractic.

IPT is perfect for those that desire a more gentle method for pain relief and discomfort. Although the pleasure of having hands-on bodywork is optimal.  I will teach you how to provide your own self-care with stretches, strengthening, and proper ergonomics to help you function more pain free. I am a certified IPT Professional through mentorship of Lee Albert. You may have seen Lee Albert on PBS Specials.

Self-care is vital in helping to relieve stress and anxiety.  IPT is similar to assisted stretching that is popular now, but the knowledge base & training is superior to most of those pop-up locations. I also offer hands-on bodywork as well as Zoom virtual services.

I like to provide help and resources for whole-person wellness.

Most of my friends and clients describe me as calming, patient, easy to share concerns with as well as a fun since of humor.  Of course, my business Aging Is Not 4 Sissies has truth and humor in it.  I love to dance, listen to music, nature and most of all family. I also have 2 Aussiedoodles.

My goal is to touch more people’s lives and expand their knowledge to help themselves toward vitality, decreased pain, and overall whole person wellness. Learn how to help yourself. Let’s discuss your pain concerns or maybe you have weakness & limited range of motion in certain joints. These are all topics that I can address and show the techniques that will aid in the problems not returning.  If I don’t have the answers then I will assist you in finding the resources needed.  Go to my website to learn more and make an appointment or a free consultation.
