Grief and Loss Therapy
Grief and Loss Therapy with Julie Landers
Grief is a deeply personal experience. Whether you are mourning the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a major life transition, or the quiet loss of who you once were, it can feel disorienting and isolating. There is no single “right” way to grieve, and no timeline that fits all.
My role is to gently meet you where you are in the process and offer a space where your feelings can be safely explored and honored.
In our work together, I use a gentle, understanding approach to help you move through grief at your own pace. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting or “getting over it”—it means finding ways to integrate your loss into your life story, discovering meaning, and learning to carry your love and memories forward in new ways.
One of the approaches we use is Narrative Therapy, a powerful, compassionate method that helps you re-tell and re-frame the story of your loss. Through guided conversation, you are invited to explore the meaning you’ve made of your experiences, identify the values and strengths that continue to guide you, and begin to author a new story that includes both your pain and your resilience.
I also draw upon Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help you stay grounded in the present moment, easing emotional overwhelm and bringing gentle awareness to your thoughts and feelings.
In addition, I incorporate creative and experiential methods—such as journaling, visualization, or symbolic expression—to help you access and release emotions that may feel “stuck” or difficult to articulate.
Grief is not a problem to be solved, but a process to be tended to with care and compassion. Together, we will create a safe, supportive space for you to move toward healing—one breath, one story, one step at a time.
