Therapy Intensives: Deep Work, Real Breakthroughs, On Your Timeline

Traditional therapy has a built-in problem: you spend the first 15 to 20 minutes settling back in, and just when you get to the good stuff, time’s up. Intensives are built differently. You get uninterrupted time (3 or 6 hours) to go deep and build real momentum, guided by research-backed tools and a plan built specifically for you or your relationship.

For Couples

Whether you’re navigating disconnection, preparing for a major life shift, or want to reconnect emotionally and sexually, an intensive gives you the time and structure to do meaningful work, fast. This format is a strong fit if you’re:

  • An emotionally distant couple looking to reconnect
  • Preparing for marriage, a baby, or another major transition
  • Stuck in the same communication breakdowns week after week
  • Working through a desire or intimacy gap
  • Ready for something more than a once-a-week check-in

We use Gottman Method, emotion-focused strategies, and sex therapy frameworks to work on the root causes of your dynamic, not just the symptoms on the surface.

    For Individuals

If you’re facing something specific (a decision, a pattern, a season of overwhelm) and don’t want to wait 10 weeks to build momentum, an intensive lets you drop into the work now. This format is a strong fit if you’re:

    • Looking for rapid relief from a specific distressing symptom or challenge
    • A busy professional who wants results, not just a weekly check-in
    • Ready to invest concentrated time and energy into your own growth

      What a Day Looks Like

      • Before we meet: A pre-intensive intake call to set clear goals and, for couples, a relationship assessment that shapes your session plan.
      • The session: Your 3 or 6 hours are broken into focused work blocks with built-in breaks and integration time, not a single unbroken marathon.
      • What we use: A holistic mix of modalities matched to your goals, addressing the emotional, psychological, and relational pieces of what’s going on.
      • After: Take-home tools and, for couples, follow-up session options to help what you built in the room stick in daily life.

We can also structure things as a single weekend, a few consecutive days, or monthly sessions over time. We’ll work with your schedule. And if you don’t live in a state we’re licensed in (GA, FL, or SC), but you can travel to one, we can make it happen.

      The Investment

      • 3-Hour Intensive: $750
      • 6-Hour Intensive: $1,500

(Multi-day and custom-length intensives are available. Pricing is quoted individually for those; contact us for details.)

Compared to months of weekly sessions that don’t move the needle, many clients find an intensive is actually the more cost-effective and emotionally efficient path, because you’re not paying for 10 weeks of warm-up before you get to the real work.

      Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from weekly therapy? Weekly therapy builds slowly over months. An intensive compresses that same depth of work into a single focused session (or a few consecutive ones), so you skip the slow ramp-up and get straight to the work that matters.

We’re not sure we’re ready to be in a room together for hours. Is that normal? Very. That’s exactly what the intake call and structured breaks are for. You’re never in unstructured, unguided time together, every block has a purpose and a therapist actively guiding it.

Does insurance cover this? Most insurance plans don’t cover intensives the way they might cover standard sessions. We can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers it, ask us during your consultation.

What happens after the intensive ends? You’ll leave with concrete take-home tools and a plan. Many clients choose occasional follow-up sessions to keep momentum going, but it’s not required.

Can we split a 6-hour intensive across more than one day? Yes. We’ll work with your schedule, whether that’s one full day, a weekend, or a few consecutive shorter sessions.
